Kirsty's story

Kirsty's best friend Shabna has confided in her that she has to get tested for HIV.

Red Cross in South Africa

18% of South Africa’s adult population are living with HIV and over a million children have been made vulnerable and orphaned by AIDS.

South African stories

Young people are being trained by Red Cross volunteers, working within their communities and schools to promote young people’s life skills and support positive living. They provide information about HIV, and support young people’s access to voluntary testing and counselling.

Here are stories of young people living with HIV and getting on with their lives.
